Archery is a low impact high-focus activity. It requires a good eye, a steady hand and jedi-like nerves of steel. When the sun is out we run outdoor archery sessions along the river bank. When the Irish weather changes we move indoors to a nearby hall.

No matter what the weather is doing, we provide you with all the equipment and training to get you on target. You can take aim just for the fun of it. Or you can go for epic tournaments that bring your competitive spirit to the fore. Either way, this is the sort of activity that many try out and return for another go with their friends.

Know Before
You Go

Do I need to know how to use a bow-and-arrow?

We use recurve bows. They are designed for beginners. We will run through the basics and safety protocols with you before you touch a bow.
How long does a session last?

1.5 hours
Is there food available?

We have a fully covered outdoor coffee shop with benches overlooking the archery course. You can buy tea, coffee, ice-cream and snacks while you relax.
Is there parking?

We have limited parking but there is a large paid (€2 cash only) car park across the road from us.
Do I need to pre-book?

We recommend you do as archery sessions have to be scheduled.
Will the weather affect the activities?

If it is too wet or windy we will move the archery session indoors to a local sports hall.

Sign in at our office and an instructor will give you a run-through with the equipment and take you to the course.

Brilliant weekend We did the level 2 kayaking course with James and the other trainers. We had a great time. The trainers were very patient and made the whole experience very enjoyable as well as educational. The other participants were great company as well. We were tired and very happy at the end of it. I could not recommend it more!

Kayaking on the Boyne You can take this trip at whatever level you like. We, as adults just enjoyed the view while gently floating down the river while our teenagers were a bit more adventurous, standing on the kayaks etc. The kayaks are sit ontop kayaks which are easy to control. We were Completely safe with our guide Ben & with all the safe gear on. Highly highly recommend. Great fun, great confidence builder & it doesn't matter if it rains. Love it. Thanks guys.

Trim to Bective Mill We went from Trim to Bective was a great morning. Great value for money and will be Back. We where offered wetsuits buoyancy aids and helmets before being showed the basics of kayaking on land before hitting the water.Ben our instructor was very knowledgeable and had great patience for even the most inexperienced kayaker. We set off on time took a approx 9km jaunt to Bective Mill. James came and collected is promptly from Bective and brought us back to where we started where we could have a shower and get changed. The Facilities where spotless and showers had hot water which was great after a cold morning on the river. After we had showers and got dressed and had some lovely snacks and coffee in the adjoining coffee shop which is lovely and clean and has nice views of the river. All in all I would highly recommend Boyne Valley Activities. Thanks for a great morning James and Ben and we'll done in having your business in great running order.

Rain or Shine One misty day, my university aged grandson and two friends enjoyed an afternoon kayaking on the River Boyne with Boyne Valley Activities. Although they joined a fairly large group for this activity, experienced guides ensured a safe and enjoyable experience kayaking a mix of flat and mild white water on the river running past Trim Castle.
"Very cool!" the younmg men reported upon their return by van from the kayak end point.
