Know Before
You Go

  • Do I need to know how to swim?

Do I need to know how to swim?

You don’t need to know how to swim. If you are going on the water you will be wearing a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) which will keep you afloat if you fall in. The Boyne is waist-high in most places so you can just stand up when you go in.

  • Do I need to know how to kayak?

Do I need to know how to kayak?

Our sit-on-top kayaks are designed for beginners so you don’t need to have kayaked before. We will run through the basics with you before you get on the water.

  • Health

A reasonable level of fitness is needed for outdoor activities but you don’t have to be Brian O’ Driscoll. Back rests are available on kayaks if you suffer from lower back pain. Swallow your pride on this and request one, trust us.

The banks of the Boyne are the perfect day out if you want to soak up the scenery without getting wet. Our base is in the centre of the medieval town but it is surrounded by greenery and flowing water so you will feel like you are deep in the countryside.

If you are a newbie trying out your first outdoor activity, you’ll be grand here.

A location like ours is a great spot to get away from the screens and the phones. If you want to try archery, our expert instructors will have you hitting the targets in a few minutes. If obstacle courses are your thing, our low ropes course will have you hanging on. For those who don’t mind getting their toes wet, we run raft building challenges that are great for groups and schools.
